Upsetting the Balance of Force

DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Its Missile Launches/failures
Pyongyang, July 6, 2006 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA Thursday as regards the missile launches in the DPRK: In the wake of the missile launches by the Korean People's Army the U.S. and some other countries following it, including Japan, are making much ado about a serious development. They are terming them "violation" and "provocation" and calling for "sanctions" and "their referral to the UN Security Council." Much ado about fuckall, indeed... The latest successful missile launches
Who doubts the sanity of the D.P.R.K?
were part of the routine military exercises staged by the KPA to increase the nation's military capacity for self-defense. I'm reassured by that. The DPRK's exercise of its legitimate right as a sovereign state is neither bound to any international law nor to bilateral or multilateral agreements such as the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and the joint statement of the six-party talks. The DPRK reneges on every international agreement. What makes ANY of them different? For example: The DPRK is not a signatory to the Missile Technology Control Regime and, therefore, is not bound to any commitment under it. As for the moratorium on long-range missile test-fire which the DPRK agreed with the U.S. in 1999, it was valid only when the DPRK-U.S. dialogue was under way. Blackmail is the motivation behind all "D.P.R.K-U.S dialogue"... The Bush administration, however, scrapped all the agreements its preceding administration concluded with the DPRK and totally scuttled the bilateral dialogue. The DPRK had already clarified in March 2005 that its moratorium on the missile test-fire lost its validity. Is every negotiation invalid to the D.P.R.K??? The same can be said of the moratorium on the long-range missile test-fire which the DPRK agreed with Japan Guess so... in the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration in 2002. In the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration the DPRK expressed its "intention to extend beyond 2003 the moratorium on the missile fire in the spirit of the declaration." This step was taken on the premise that Japan moved to normalize its relations with the DPRK and redeem its past. The Japanese authorities, however, have abused the DPRK's good faith. They have not honored their commitment So? None of the commitments were ever valid anyway... but internationalized the "abduction issue," pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, although the DPRK had fully settled the issue. This behavior has brought the overall DPRK-Japan relations to what was before the publication of the declaration. It is a manifestation of the DPRK's broad magnanimity that it has put on hold the missile launch so far under this situation. In other words, SUCCESSFUL missile launches are currently "on hold"...The joint statement of the six-party talks on September 19, 2005 stipulates the commitments to be fulfilled by the six sides to the talks to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. But no sooner had the joint statement been adopted, then rejected, than the U.S. applied financial sanctions against the DPRK and escalated pressure upon it in various fields through them. The U.S., at the same time, has totally hamstrung the efforts for the implementation of the joint statement through such threat and blackmail as large-scale military exercises targeted against the DPRK. It is clear to everyone that there is no need for the DPRK to unilaterally put on hold the missile launch under such situation. Who ever said the D.P.R.K was going to"put on hold the missile launch"? Such being a stark fact, it is a far-fetched assertion grossly falsifying the reality for them to claim that the routine missile launches conducted by the KPA for self-defence strain the regional situation and block the progress of the dialogue. O.K. How 'bout the development of nuclear weapons??? It is a lesson taught by history and a stark reality of the international relations proven by the Iraqi crisis that the upsetting of the balance of force is bound to create instability and crisis and spark even a war. But for the DPRK's tremendous deterrent for self-defence, the U.S. would have attacked the DPRK more than once as it had listed the former as part of an "axis of evil" and a "target of preemptive nuclear attack" and peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the region would have been seriously disturbed. It isn't already? The DPRK's missile development, test-fire, manufacture and deployment, therefore, serve as a key to keeping the balance of force and preserving peace and stability in Northeast Asia. It is also preposterous for them to term the latest missile launches on July 4th a "provocation" and the like for the mere reason that the DPRK did not send prior notice about them. It would be quite foolish to notify Washington and Tokyo of the missile launches in advance, given that the U.S., which is technically at war with the DPRK, has threatened it since a month ago that it would intercept the latter's missile in collusion with Japan. Turns out, they didn't have to... We would like to ask the U.S. and Japan if they had ever notified the DPRK of their ceaseless missile launches in the areas close to it. Fair point. The DPRK remains unchanged in its will to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula in a negotiated peaceful manner just as it committed itself in the September 19 joint statement of the six-party talks. In other words, the D.P.R.K remains unchanged in it's will to defy all obligations of peace. The latest missile launch exercises are quite irrelevant to the six-party talks. No, the six-party talks are what's "quite irrelevant"... The KPA will go on with missile launch exercises as part of its efforts to bolster deterrent for self-defence in the future, too. No fuckin' shit... The DPRK will have no option but to take stronger physical actions of other forms, should any other country dares take issue with the exercises and put pressure upon it.
What "stronger physical action" is that? A Taepodong2 that lasts two minutes instead of one...

MSNBC
“My message was that we want to solve this problem diplomatically, and the best way to solve this problem diplomatically is for all of us to be working in concert,” Bush said.
Diplomacy with the North Korean regime has and always will fail.
Without an American military intervention, the citizens of the country will continue starving to death...

“It’s hard for me to tell you what’s on his mind,” Bush said of Kim Jong Il. “This is a very closed society. We do know there are a lot of concentration camps. We do know people are starving. “I think what we have to do is plan for the worst and hope for the best.”

Translation: Let's do nothing and hope the situation doesn't get worse...

Glaring absence...

Of the term "U.S".
July 5, 2006 seems to be a slow "news" day in North Korea.
Check this shit out...
Intellectual Development Education
Pyongyang, July 5, 2006 (KCNA) -- Efforts are being directed to the intellectual development education in the DPRK. In order to develop intellectual faculty of students, the educationists of the country are introducing the question-and-answer and conversation-style teaching methods, not explanation-style teaching method. I can understand why that would need to be "introduced"... They, at the same time, are intensifying study of teaching methods in each teaching stage and education process. Teachers of Changdok School have created and applied more than 50 new teaching methods to lectures, thus gaining many successes in the educational work.
Get ready for a K.C.N.A sentence...
Kanggye Jangjasan Middle School No. 1 honored with the title of Hero, Pyongyang Jongbaek Primary School, Pyongyang Jangchung Kindergarten No.1 and many other schools and kindergartens have solved by themselves the issues arising in working out intellectual teaching plans, making collections of intellectual questions and answers and educating through computer multimedia in a way suited to the psychological peculiarities of pupils and to the requirement of the developing reality.
North Korea has high expectations of their kindergarten students...
They have made a lot of teaching materials and aids and intellectual-developing computer programs on a high level. Over 6,000 pieces of intellectual-developing teaching materials and aids have been newly made and used at schools and kindergartens in Pyongyang. They include teaching plans of math, physics, chemistry, history, geography and other subjects, collections of questions, diagrams, illustration boards, multimedia programs, various kinds of experimental apparatuses, model boards, playthings and so on. The intensified intellectual-developing education helps improving the quality of education and training the rising generation to be personnel with intellectual ability as required by the era of science and technology and the state.

Rodong Sinmun Calls for Intensified Anti-U.S. Struggle
Pyongyang, July 4, 2006 (KCNA) -- A review of the last 6 years since the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration reinforces the Korean people's will that their cherished desire for national reunification is attainable only through a struggle against the U.S. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed article and goes on: The 70 million Koreans are glorifying the era of June 15 reunification with the successes achieved in the three-point patriotic movement under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" but the U.S. still remains persistent in its moves against reunification. Citing facts to prove that the U.S. is stooping to any infamy to check the progress of the era of June 15 reunification, becoming evermore hostile towards the DPRK, the article notes again since yesterday: The U.S. moves to provoke a war on the Korean Peninsula pose a grave threat to the era of June 15 reunification. Paying lip-service to the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. bellicose forces have stepped up the moves to provoke a war of aggression against the DPRK on the basis of the military doctrine calling for preemptive nuclear attack. This is about as original as the next sentence... Even after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, the U.S. imperialists frantically staged provocative nuclear war exercises against the DPRK, steadily modifying and supplementing their war scenarios against the DPRK from "OPLAN 5027" to "CONPLAN", "OPLAN 5030", "New OPLAN 5026", "OPLAN 5027-04", and my favorites, "OPLAN 5029" and "OPLAN 8022-02." The DPRK-targeted nuclear war exercises staged with the mobilization of aggressor troops every year have further grown in their scale than those held in the period when the inter-Korean confrontation was acute. This fact alone clearly reveals the anti-Korean reunification nature of the U.S. imperialists. Precisely for this reason the peace on the Korean Peninsula has been exposed to a constant threat and a brake has been put on the inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation for the last six years. All Koreans in the north, the south and overseas should more bravely turn out in the struggle for independence against the U.S., well aware that without the struggle against the U.S. imperialists, a main obstacle to the advance of the era of June 15 reunification, it is impossible to defend sovereignty and the right to existence nor is it possible to achieve national reunification. All according to devious American "plans"...

Hollow Point Threat: Vol 2

U.S. Deployment of New-Type Reconnaissance Plane in S. Korea under Fire
Pyongyang, July 3, 2006 (KCNA) -- Commenting on the deployment of "U-2 S Block 20" high-altitude strategic reconnaissance plane in the U.S. air force base in Osan, south Korea, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Monday says: This is a grave military provocation and blackmail even worse than North Korean nuclear blackmail, to the DPRK, being an indication that the U.S. is rapidly pushing ahead in various fields with the extremely dangerous war moves against the DPRK, driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war. As regards the deployment of the plane, the U.S. warmongers claim that it had been planned long ago. But it is nothing but a sophism. Who gives a shit when it was planned??? Nowadays, the U.S. is daily escalating military pressure upon the DPRK
with reckless war exercises, massive arms buildup and persistent aerial espionage, while driving the six-way talks for a settlement to the DPRK-U.S. nuclear issue to a rupture by putting up absurd pretexts and fictions. It's nothing more absurd or fictional than the K.C.N.A's "news"... So thick clouds of war are hanging above the Korean Peninsula and a touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the peninsula. Realities make it crystal clear that the fond talk of the U.S. about "dialogue" and "peace" is a false advertisement to mislead public opinion at home and abroad in a manner reminiscent of the Iraqi WMD "lies"... and its criminal attempt to start a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula at any cost is entering the stage of practice. The military strain of the Korean Peninsula carried into extremes by the U.S. imperialists attests to the validity of the option of the DPRK in building up a strong war deterrent under Songun politics. Convinced that peace is defended only by arms, the army and people of the DPRK are now in full preparedness to answer a preemptive attack with a relentless annihilating strike and a nuclear war with a mighty nuclear deterrent, without the means of delivery... The U.S. imperialists should ponder over the possible consequences of their heedless provocation moves for a war against the DPRK and get out of south Korea promptly with all their military hardware including strategic reconnaissance planes. America won't even ponder abandoning South Korea. Ever.

Hollow Point Threat

U.S. Denounced for Deploying Ultra-Modern Reconnaissance Plane in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 1, 2006 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has deployed latest
"U-2 S Block 20"
in south Korea, timed to coincide with its evermore undisguised military threat and blackmail against the DPRK, to coincide with North Korea's evermore elusive and disguised nuclear weapon ambitions... This is another grave military provocation against the DPRK and an extremely dangerous move for a war of aggression against it to push the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war. Where North Korean leaderships seems to always, be... A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said this in a statement on June 30. The reality clearly indicates that the U.S. remains unchanged in its criminal attempt to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, the statement noted, and continued: The U.S. is recklessly driving the situation on the peninsula to the brink of war, preoccupied with the moves for a war against the DPRK. This grave situation once again goes to prove that peace has been preserved on the peninsula so far entirely thanks to the DPRK's strong war deterrent. I don't know what's more comical: the D.R.P.K's stand on the role it played in regional peace, or it "war deterrent": Now that the U.S. is set to ignite a nuclear war for the purpose of disturbing peace and stability on the peninsula by force, the DPRK is compelled to bolster up its deterrent for self-defense under the uplifted banner of Songun. That should let everyone in North Korea sleep well. They're all subjected to consistent and pointless propaganda regarding nuclear annihilation anyway... The army and people of the DPRK are fully prepared to counter any provocation and challenge of the U.S, except "latest U-2 S Block 20" deployments.
